Voor de Meisjes is the opening film of the Netherlands Film Festival!

Voor de Meisjes kicks off the 45th Netherlands Film Festival!

This family thriller comes from Oscar and Golden Calf winner Mike van Diem. The film tells the story of two befriended couples on vacation with their daughters in the Alps. When the girls are involved in an accident and it turns out that only one of them can be saved, a morally charged nightmare unfolds filled with despair, manipulation, and far-reaching decisions.

Mike van Diem, known for his acclaimed film Character (1997), is back with this powerful new story.

Starring Noortje Herlaar, Fedja van Huêt, Thekla Reuten, and Valentijn Dhaenens. Van Diem describes the selection as the festival’s opening film as “coming home,” and characterizes the film as “an emotional rollercoaster in which decent people do things that are far from acceptable.”

“Voor de Meisjes” is a production by Keplerfilm and Nuts & Bolts Film Company in co-production with A Private View and Schubert Füm GmbH.
