The Best of Dorien B. wins ANONIMUL AWARD FOR BEST FILM in Romania!

Anke Blondé’s debut feature “The Best of Dorien B.” has won the ‘Anonimul Award for Best Film’ at the 16th Anonimul International Independent Film Festival in Sfantu Gheorghe, Romania. Actress Kim Snauwaert received the award from festival director Miruna Berescu. “Director Anke Blondé will be very happy with this award. It was a great honor to be here,” Kim said after accepting the Award, which comes with a cash prize of 3,000 euros.

Lead actress Kim Snauwaert joined the festival to present our film in the Feature Film Competition at the 16th ANONIMUL International Independent Film Festival in Sfantu Gheorghe, a remote location in the Danube Delta. After flying to Bucharest, Kim took a 3-hour drive to Murighiol, followed by a 50-minute speedboat trip to the island of Sfantu Gheorghe. The film was screened three times at the festival and Kim participated in 3 Q&A’s in front of an enthousiastic audience.

Since world premiering at the International Film Festival of Rotterdam in January 2019, “The Best of Dorien B” has been screened at the Sydney Film Festival, the New Horizons Inernational Film Festival (Poland), the Galway Film Fleadh (Ireland), the Edinburgh International Film Festival (UK), the Lucca Film Festival e Europa Cinema (Italy) and the Beijing International Film Festival (China). Our film had already picked up the BEST INTERNATIONAL FIRST FEATURE award at the Irish Galway Film Fleadh and a special mention of the jury at the Lucca Film Festival.

The Best of Dorien B. will open the 13th edition of the Ostend Film Festival on 6 September. It will be released nationally on 11 September.
