Director Anke Blondé describes Dust as a film about the downfall of men who once embodied power, wealth, and status. This is not a hero’s journey, a fight against the odds, but a suspenseful story of two characters who have to come to terms with themselves, without all the status, the money and the fame. For me, as a woman director, it’s important to focus on their vulnerability and the return of the light after the dark, dark, night.”

Producer Dries Phlypo, “Themes like ambition, leadership, and success have long been framed through a masculine lens. Our aim is to bring a fresh, female perspective to these masculine narratives.”

Funding comes from a range of backers, including the Flemish Audiovisual Fund, Screen Flanders, Casa Kafka, the Belgium Tax Shelter, Creative Europe, Polish Film Institute, EKK Greek Film Centre, Ekome Cash Rebate, Eurimages, UK Tax Credit, BFI Global Screen Fund, and private equity investors.

Dust is an A Private View production with international coproduction partners. Sales are being handled by LevelK. Dust will be released in Belgium and Luxembourg by Kinepolis Film Distribution.
