On January 17, the short film Coffee at Lourdes was screened at the Tournai Ramdam Festival, marking a memorable festival moment for the production. A couple of days after the screening, further good news followed: Coffee at Lourdes was officially awarded the prize for Best Short Film, a significant recognition for writer and director Kyoko Scholiers.
Coffee at Lourdes tells an intimate and poignant story about time, memory, and reconciliation. After forty years of radio silence, Sol meets his old friend Dicky to clear an incident from the past. At Café Lourdes the two graying men make a final attempt to come to terms with the past and each other. Time is precious, as Dicky’s death is scheduled for tomorrow.
