DUST has been selected for the 50th edition of the São Paulo International Film Festival. Following its world premiere in the Berlinale’s main competition, the film by director Anke Blondé and screenwriter Angelo Tijssens continues its international journey in Brazil. The festival will take place in São Paulo from 15 to 29 October 2026.
At the Berlinale, DUST competed for the Golden Bear and became the first Flemish feature film in 45 years to be selected for the festival’s main competition. With its selection in São Paulo, Brazilian audiences will now also have the opportunity to discover DUST on the big screen.
For Anke Blondé and A Private View, the selection also marks a return to São Paulo. In 2019, Blondé’s feature debut The Best of Dorien B., also produced by A Private View, was selected for the festival’s New Filmmakers Competition.
DUST is set in the late 1990s. At the height of Belgium’s tech boom, visionary founders Luc and Geert see their empire begin to crumble when news of their fraud comes to light. Their final day of freedom turns into a turbulent search for redemption among investors, family and their community, during which they discover what truly matters.
The film stars Arieh Worthalter and Jan Hammenecker, alongside Thibaud Dooms, Anthony Welsh, Fania Sorel, Verona Verbakel and Janne Desmet, among others.
The 50th Mostra Internacional de Cinema em São Paulo runs from 15 to 29 October 2026.
