Dust by Anke Blondé in the Official Competition in Berlin

Our feature film Dust by Anke Blondé has been selected for the Official Competition of the Berlin International Film Festival (12–22 February). The festival organization announced the news moments ago. It is the first time since Vrijdag by Hugo Claus in 1981 that a Flemish feature film is part of the Competition in Berlin and competes for a Golden Bear.

Dust is directed by Anke Blondé (Juliet, The Best of Dorien B.) and written by Angelo Tijssens (Coward, Julian, Close), who is also involved in the project as executive producer. Together, they join forces in Dust and venture into the suspense thriller genre, which immediately earns them a selection for the Berlinale’s Official Competition.

“With great pride and gratitude, we are able to present Dust, the passion project we have worked on over the past years, in the official main competition in Berlin. This is an exceptional recognition at one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world.”
Dries Phlypo, producer

In Dust, two successful entrepreneurs at the public peak of their success are informed that their fraudulent structures are about to be exposed. There is one rain-soaked Sunday left to come to terms with themselves and with each other. Gradually, they lose everything. They end up together, dirty and without shoes, power, or freedom.

The leading roles in Dust are played by Arieh Worthalter and Jan Hammenecker. Among others, Thibaud Dooms and Janne Desmet appear in supporting roles. Frank Van den Eeden (Girl, Close) was behind the camera. David Verdurme handled the editing in collaboration with Lambis Haralambidis.
