We are delighted to announce that Borges and Me will celebrate its world premiere at the 79th Edinburgh International Film Festival on 15 August 2026.

Directed by Marc Turtletaub and adapted from Jay Parini’s memoir, the film follows the unexpected journey of a young American student and celebrated Argentine writer Jorge Luis Borges through the Scottish countryside in the early 1970s. During their eventful road trip, the two men gradually develop a complex and meaningful bond, shaped by poetry, music and melancholy.

The film stars Fionn Whitehead as Jay Parini alongside Alan Cumming and Morven Christie.

Borges and Me will premiere on Saturday 15 August at 6:30 PM.
