Beginnings will premiere on 17 February 2025 at the 75th Berlin International Film Festival.

Ane and Thomas are in the midst of a divorce but haven’t told their children yet. Thomas is about to move in with his new girlfriend when Ane is suddenly struck by a life-changing stroke. They decide to continue living together until Ane recovers, and as she fiercely fights to regain her former self, they are both forced to face a new reality and make a crucial decision for the sake of their family.

Beginnings is directed by Jeanette Nordahl and written by Jeanette Nordahl & Rasmus Birch. It stars Trine Dyrholm, David Dencik, Johanne Louise Schmidt, Bjørk Storm, and Luna Fuglsang Svelmøe. The film is produced by Snowglobe in co-production with Hobab and Lemming Film Belgium.
